I looked up, only seeing the large stone roof with cracks and bumps. It was a hue of gray that I'd never seen before. A kind of gray that made your insides feel empty and your soul feel lonely, that is the best way I could ever describe it.
"What, there's nothing here?" I squinted my eyes to look closely at the roof.
"Whaddaya mean 'there's nothing there?'! Oh by my father's grave, WATCH YOUR STEP!" his voice was in such a high pitch that I wondered if it would burst.
"There's nothing he-" CREEAAAK "What was that?"
"I'm telling you, look down for once, Freya." his voice, now barely a whisper, shivered.
I slowly turned my gaze to my feet and gasped when the sight hit me.
"Oh." I said, shocked. "You meant this."
I gestured to the floor.
I was standing in the middle of a large glass panel, and the sound had been the massive crack that traveled, not unlike a lightning bolt, from the edge into the middle, right in front of me.
